Durga Puja is an annual Hindu festival in remembrance of the divine feminine, Shakti. It is one of the most important festivals in India, and is celebrated throughout the country with much pomp and grandeur. Durga Puja is celebrated in the Hindu month of Ashvin, which usually corresponds to September or October in the Gregorian calendar.

The festival lasts for 10 days, and culminates in the immersion of the idols of Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Ganesh in a river or other water body. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the victory of good over evil, and to honor the power and strength of the divine feminine.
